The Ghana Kidney Association (GKA) has launched a new website to support kidney patients in Ghana. The website, developed by Innovare Company, aims to educate, support, and create awareness on kidney disease and related issues.
Dr. Nsiah Asare, a Senior Medical Practitioner and GKA member, emphasized the importance of kidney function to overall health. He noted that accessing dialysis, transplant, and treatment remains a significant challenge for kidney patients in Ghana.
The website seeks to address these challenges by providing accurate and reliable information on kidney disease, its causes, symptoms, and treatment options. It also offers support and resources for kidney patients, families, and caregivers.
The GKA President, Prof Sampson Antwi, commended Innovare for their initiative and reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to advocating for subsidized kidney dialysis and educational programs.
A kidney patient and GKA member, Edward Akufo-Addo, described the website as a “life-changing solution” and urged stakeholders to advocate for policies that make treatment more accessible and affordable.
