Accra, Ghana – The Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry (MoTAI) is hosting Ghana’s Inbound Textiles and Apparel Roadshow from November 10, to 12, 2025, in Accra, as part of its strategy to attract strategic investments and boost industrialization and job creation. The initiative falls under the government’s 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme.

The Ministry is collaborating with key partners, including GIZ, the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, GIPC, GFZA, GEPA, JET, IFC, and the ILO, to showcase Ghana as West Africa’s leading destination for ethical and sustainable apparel production. The roadshow follows successful engagements with international investors in Germany earlier this year.

The three-day event includes guided visits to leading garment factories and industrial parks, policy presentations by government officials, and matchmaking sessions with local manufacturers. In a preliminary engagement, a delegation of investors met with MoTAI officials to express interest in the sector. During the meeting, MoTAI’s Head of Strategic Anchor Directorate, Mr. Kwasi Antwi, presented a draft policy framework outlining government interventions.

The event is expected to strengthen Ghana’s position as a competitive hub for apparel manufacturing in Africa, creating decent jobs and boosting non-traditional exports. The National Coordinator of the Association of Ghana Apparel Manufacturers (AGAM), Nana Poquah Adiamah, reaffirmed the association’s readiness to collaborate with investors, highlighting its focus on compliance and leveraging trade policies like the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) to expand market access.
