President John Dramani Mahama and Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang hosted King Mswati III of the Kingdom of Eswatini and his wife at the Presidency on Tuesday, as part of their State Visit to Ghana. The royal couple and their entourage were treated to a vibrant display of Ghanaian culture, with traditional music and dance performances welcoming them to the country.

The visit began with the inspection of a Guard of Honour mounted by the Ghana Air Force, a ceremonial gesture that reflects the respect and dignity accorded to the monarch. The Guard of Honour inspection was followed by bilateral talks between President Mahama and King Mswati III, where the two leaders discussed areas of mutual interest and cooperation between their nations.

A significant outcome of the talks was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Ghana and the Kingdom of Eswatini. The MOU aims to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries, paving the way for future collaborations in areas such as trade, education, and culture.

The state visit by King Mswati III marks a significant moment in the diplomatic relations between Ghana and Eswatini, highlighting their commitment to fostering stronger ties. The warm reception and high-level engagement underscore the importance Ghana places on the visit and its desire to strengthen bilateral relations with the Kingdom of Eswatini.
