Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister has hailed the recent three-day state visit by Czech President Petr Pavel as a truly memorable and historic moment for both nations. The visit, which took place from April 8 to 10, marked President John Dramani Mahama’s first state visit since his return to the presidency and only the second visit by a Czech President in 60 years.
During the visit, President Pavel and President Mahama engaged in high-level bilateral talks, reaffirming their countries’ long-standing relationship and renewing commitments to deepen political, economic, and cultural cooperation. The two leaders signed several agreements, paving the way for new industries, technologies, business partnerships, military investments, hospitals, and jobs.
The success of the visit will be measured by the tangible benefits that both nations derive from these agreements. As the Foreign Affairs Minister noted, “Now the hard work begins, we shall ensure that all the agreements signed materialize, and that the people of both benefit from this high-level visit.”
This historic visit is expected to boost economic diplomacy between Ghana and the Czech Republic, with a focus on promoting new trade and investment opportunities.
