The Government of Ghana has issued a strong condemnation of what it describes as an “unprovoked Israeli attack” on the sovereign State of Qatar, which resulted in casualties and significant loss of life and property. In a statement released on September 10, 2025, from Accra, the Ghanaian government asserted that the airstrikes represent a clear violation of international law and a direct affront to Qatar’s sovereignty. The statement also expressed concern that the attack undermines the ongoing peace negotiations between the States of Palestine and Israel, which Qatar has been tirelessly working to facilitate.

In a show of solidarity, His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama and the people of Ghana extended their support to the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the Qatari people during this difficult period. Ghana’s government has commended Qatar for its unwavering and impressive commitment to seeking a peaceful resolution to the conflict. The statement appealed to both parties to ensure that this “condemnable incident” does not derail Qatar’s crucial efforts to negotiate a diplomatic solution.
The diplomatic move by Ghana highlights its concern over regional stability and its support for peaceful conflict resolution. By publicly condemning the attack and backing Qatar’s mediation efforts, Ghana is reinforcing its position as a nation that upholds international law and advocates for dialogue over military action. The statement serves as a clear message that such acts of aggression are unacceptable and pose a threat to the broader pursuit of global peace.
