Ghana Commissions Healthcare Facility in Volta Region

The Ministry of Health has commissioned a healthcare facility in Abotia Kpota, Volta Region. This is the result of a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Health and the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare.

The facility will provide healthcare services to the local community, improving healthcare access and health outcomes in the region. The Minister of Health commended the Republic of South Korea for its support and acknowledged the programs funded by South Korea, which have contributed to achieving Universal Health Coverage.

The facility is equipped with medical equipment and staffed by healthcare professionals. It will offer services, including healthcare, outpatient and inpatient services, laboratory services, and health programs.

The Minister said the Ministry will ensure participation from all stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in achieving Universal Health Coverage. He said the Ministry will monitor and support the facility to ensure its sustainability.

A Biomedical Engineering Unit was commissioned in the Volta Regional Health Directorate, supported by the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare. This unit will manage medical equipment, improving healthcare services in the region.

The South Korean ambassador to Ghana announced plans to expand the Ho Teaching Hospital due to the ties between Ghana and Korea.
