Ghana actively participated in the 4th China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE), held in Changsha, Hunan Province, China, from June 12 to 15, 2025. The event, themed “China and Africa: Together Toward Modernization,” aimed to strengthen trade and economic relations between China and the African continent.

The Expo drew over 4,600 Chinese and African companies and more than 30,000 participants from various sectors including manufacturing, garment, transport, and agribusiness.
Ghana utilized the platform to promote its “Made-in-Ghana” products and services, forge new trade collaborations, explore fresh markets, and attract foreign investment, aligning with the nation’s economic diplomacy objectives. Over thirty Ghanaian exhibitors showcased a diverse range of products, including cocoa, textiles, pharmaceuticals, agricultural goods, wood, and leather items.

During the opening ceremony, H.E. Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, reaffirmed China’s commitment to supporting Africa’s modernization. He emphasized that achieving modernization is a shared goal, expressing confidence that the Expo would foster increased China-Africa cooperation for mutual benefit.

Minister Yi also indicated that China would continue engaging with African nations on governance, development strategies to expedite the ten-point partnership action plan for Africa’s modernization, signing economic partnership agreements to boost African imports, and contributing to Africa’s digital transformation.
