The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has categorically denied allegations of ammunition smuggling after a viral audio recording made the rounds on social media. The recording claimed that a civilian pick-up truck was allowed to enter the Magazine at 5 Battalion of Infantry to transport ammunition to an undisclosed location.

However, the GAF has set the record straight, stating that the vehicle in question was actually delivering a live cow to be quarantined before being relocated to the kraal adjacent to the Magazine. The GAF has urged the public to disregard the misinformation, emphasizing that spreading falsehoods can create unnecessary tension and fear among citizens.

The GAF has reassured the public that its doors are open and encourages anyone with inquiries to contact the Department of Public Relations. The institution remains committed to safeguarding the stability and sovereignty of Ghana.

This clarification was made in a press release issued on Christmas Day, which was signed and issued by E. Aggrey-Quashie, Brigadier General and Director General of Public Relations.
