The Management of Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SNIT) has approved a 12% pension indexation rate for 2025. This decision was made in accordance with the National Pensions Act, 2008, and in consultation with the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA).

The approved indexation rate will be redistributed as an 8% fixed rate plus a flat amount of GHe 72.58, benefiting all pensioners as of December 31, 2024. This means that the effective increase in pensions will range from 8.04% for the highest earners to 32.19% for the lowest earners.

Additionally, the minimum monthly pension of GHe 300 will be maintained in 2025. New pensioners whose computed monthly pension falls below this threshold will receive the minimum amount of GHe 300, starting January 2025.

This development is expected to bring relief to pensioners and help them cope with the rising cost of living in Ghana.
