Accra, Ghana – In a move aimed at challenging the dominance of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ghanaian politics, the Ghana Alternative Party (GAP) has formed an alliance with the National Liberation Congress (NLC) for the upcoming December 7, general elections.
According to a statement released by the party, the Functional Executive Committee and National Executive Committee of GAP unanimously agreed to partner with NLC, citing ideological alignment as the reason for the alliance.
Osahene Nana Agyei Boateng, Chairman and Founder of GAP, stated that the partnership is driven by the party’s philosophy, which synchronizes with that of NLC. He expressed confidence that the alliance will amass a multitude of supporters, enabling them to wrestle power from the NPP and NDC duopoly.
Boateng called on the general public to prepare for a new wave of political change, assuring that the GAP-NLC alliance will bring a fresh perspective to Ghanaian politics.
The move is seen as a strategic effort to challenge the status quo and offer voters an alternative to the traditional political powerhouses in Ghana. As the country gears up for the December elections, this alliance is likely to shake up the political landscape.
