The devastating Kantamanto fire outbreak that ravaged over 100 shops and affected more than 30,000 traders has brought immense challenges to the victims. However, Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB Bank) has stepped in to provide relief with a special loan package worth GH₵ 3 million.
On Thursday, January 30, 2025, GCB Bank honored its promise to support the victims by launching the loan package. The bank brought together a group of affected customers to receive the loans after completing the documentation processes.
The loan package offers a subsidized nine-month payment period, with a three-month moratorium. This means that the beneficiaries will not be required to make payments until April.
Farihan Alhassan, represented by Executive Head of Retail Banking, Mr. Sina Kamagate, expressed the bank’s concerns for the welfare and restoration of the victims’ businesses. “Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with all those affected by this tragic incident. As a Bank that stands firmly with our community in times of need, we are offering this tailored loan package to provide immediate financial support.”
The loan package is designed to help the victims rebuild their lives, restore their businesses, and regain stability. GCB Bank’s initiative demonstrates its commitment to standing with its customers in difficult times and helping them move forward towards a stronger and brighter future.
