In a stunning revelation, former NPP National Chairman Freddie Blay has disclosed that his 34-year-old son, Kwame Blay, submitted a bid of $150-200 million for seven SSNIT hotels, surpassing the $61 million offer made by Agriculture Minister Bryan Acheampong, who ultimately acquired the hotels. Blay’s son’s bid was rejected, despite being supported by a syndicate of banks and a well-branded hotel chain.

This new information contradicts earlier claims that Acheampong’s company, Rock City Hotel Limited, offered the highest bid for the hotels.

Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has questioned the transparency of the bidding process, suggesting that Freddie Blay’s revelation exposes a flawed system.

The development has sparked fresh concerns about potential state capture and corruption, with many calling for further investigation into the matter. Freddie Blay’s son, Kwame, has been accused of illegally acquiring the Labadi beachfront, adding to the controversy surrounding the Blay family’s business dealings.
