Accra, Ghana — Minister of Finance Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has pledged a significant investment in agriculture in the 2026 Budget, aiming to boost food security and drive economic growth. Speaking on Farmers’ Day, he acknowledged the crucial role farmers play in Ghana’s economy and emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting them with tools, technology, and resources.
Dr. Forson stated that the government is “returning the favour” for farmers’ contributions, framing agriculture as the “engine of Ghana’s renewal”. He emphasized that “The transformation has begun,” highlighting the sector’s potential to shape the country’s future prosperity.
The Minister’s announcement comes as Ghana seeks to strengthen its agricultural sector, with the investments expected to enhance productivity and sustainability.
