The Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana (EPCG) has congratulated President-Elect John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on their landslide victory in the December 7, 2024 Presidential Election. The church also extended its congratulations to the NDC’s Parliamentary Candidates who won their seats in the legislature of Ghana’s Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.
The EPCG commended Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), for his maturity and sincerity in conceding defeat and congratulating President-Elect Mahama. The church noted that Bawumia’s prompt concession helped ease tensions and prevent potential chaos in some parts of the country.
The church expressed gratitude to all stakeholders, including political actors, the media, observer groups, and security personnel, for their roles in ensuring a successful election. The EPCG urged all Ghanaians to put aside their differences and rally behind the President-Elect and his incoming government to promote socio-economic growth and stability.
The Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana assured the incoming NDC government of its firm allegiance and partnership in areas such as education, health, agriculture, and social interventions. The church pledged to provide religious intercession and support in accordance with its mission of “Bringing Light to where there is Darkness”.
