The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) is set to introduce a new prepayment metering system in the Volta Region in 2025. The system, called BRASSICA PAY, will be piloted in Ho, the regional capital, before being rolled out to other districts.

According to Mrs. Christina Jato-Kaleo, Volta and Oti Regional General Manager of ECG, the pilot phase will involve testing the system on about 200 prepaid meters. This will help identify and address potential challenges before the full rollout.

The new system will replace existing prepaid meters, many of which are malfunctioning. The rollout will start in Ho and later expand to Hohoe and other districts, depending on the success of the pilot phase and internet connectivity in the communities.

ECG is committed to ensuring efficient service delivery and addressing customer challenges. The new system is expected to enhance the reliability of electricity supply and improve customer satisfaction in the Volta Region.
