Accra, Ghana – The Electoral Commission of Ghana has published the ballot statistics for the 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections, marking a significant milestone in the country’s electoral process.

The Commission arrived at the ballot statistics by considering the total number of voters on the 2024 Provisional Voters Register (PVR) plus a two percent increase. This methodology, which has been in use since 1992, is deemed adequate to prevent shortfalls or unnecessary wastage of ballots.
According to the Electoral Commission, this approach will ensure a smooth voting process, despite acknowledging that not all registered voters will cast their ballots. The Commission encourages maximum voter turnout and assures the public of its capability to deliver on its mandate.
“The Commission is confident that the methodology relied upon will not result in shortfalls or unnecessary wastage,” said Samuel Tettey, Deputy Chairman, Operations.
As the country prepares for the 2024 General Election, the Electoral Commission’s transparency and fairness are crucial in maintaining public trust. With this development, Ghanaians can expect a well-organized electoral process.
The Electoral Commission has urged the public to trust in their ability to deliver on their mandate, ensuring a free and fair election. The publication of ballot statistics demonstrates the Commission’s commitment to transparency and accountability.
Ghanaians will go to the polls soon to elect their next president and parliamentary representatives. The Electoral Commission’s preparations are underway to ensure a successful and peaceful election.
