The Deputy Minister for Health, Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, has highlighted the government’s key priority areas in health delivery during a courtesy call by the leadership of KPMG at the Ministry of Health. The Deputy Minister emphasized the need for stronger partnerships between government and both private and public sector institutions to advance healthcare in Ghana.
She outlined areas of focus, including retooling and capacity building, improving the supply of hospital consumables, and strengthening the welfare and training of health staff. The Deputy Minister also noted the government’s initiative, the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, aimed at providing comprehensive support for managing Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs).
The KPMG team, led by Country Managing Partner Andrew Akoto, expressed commitment to collaborating with the Ministry to support its strategic health priorities, particularly in addressing NCDs, strengthening primary healthcare, and driving Universal Health Coverage (UHC). The engagement provided an opportunity for both parties to explore potential areas of collaboration to enhance health delivery in Ghana.
