On May 23, 2024, the Dansoman court granted bail to Hopeson Adorye, a prominent figure associated with the Movement for Change. Adorye’s arrest stemmed from explosive statements he made during an interview on Accra FM. He alleged that dynamite blasts in the Volta Region aimed to intimidate voters in opposition strongholds, resulting in decreased voter turnout and benefiting the New Patriotic Party (NPP). These allegations sparked widespread condemnation.

Adorye’s legal team fulfilled the bail requirement of GH¢20,000, securing his release along with two sureties at the Dansoman Circuit Court. Former Adentan Member of Parliament, Yaw Buaben Asamoa, suggested that the arrest was politically motivated, hinting at potential external influence on law enforcement decisions. Despite the arrest, Adorye continues to be an active member of the Movement for Change.
