Accra – The University of Ghana’s Health Services Directorate has issued a renewed public health advisory following a noticeable uptick in COVID-19 cases in and around campus. With both suspected and confirmed cases on the rise, the community is being urged to step up vigilance and preventive practices immediately.

Staff, students, and visitors are reminded to strictly follow key safety measures:
- Wear face masks, especially in enclosed or densely populated areas
- Practice proper hand hygiene—frequent washing with soap or use of alcohol-based sanitizers
- Maintain at least one metre of distance whenever possible
- Avoid large gatherings, unless absolutely essential
- Keep indoor spaces well ventilated
- Stay home and seek medical care if you experience flu-like symptoms
In response, the Health Directorate has reactivated its COVID-19 Response Protocols across all university health facilities, including screening and triage procedures. They are actively monitoring the situation and have committed to providing regular updates as needed.
“We urge every member of our community to take these precautions seriously,” a representative stated. “Our shared commitment is crucial to preventing further spread.”
