A delegation of Colombian women cocoa farmers has successfully concluded a four-day tour of Ghana’s Eastern and Ashanti Regions. The visit aimed to share best practices and promote farm management techniques with Ghanaian cocoa farmers. The Colombian farmers interacted with their Ghanaian counterparts, exchanging knowledge and experiences in cocoa farming.
During their tour, the delegation witnessed the graduation of women cocoa farmers who completed a farmer business school program organized by the Cocoa Health & Extension Division at Ashanti Bekwai. This program is designed to equip farmers with the skills and knowledge needed to manage their farms effectively and improve their livelihoods.
The Colombian farmers expressed their gratitude to the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) and FEDECACAO for their support during the visit. The tour provided a valuable opportunity for the Colombian farmers to learn from their Ghanaian counterparts and share their own experiences in cocoa farming.
The visit highlights the growing collaboration between Ghana and Colombia in the cocoa sector. By sharing best practices and expertise, both countries can work together to improve cocoa productivity and promote sustainable farming practices. The tour is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of cocoa farmers in both countries.
