A delegation of 25 female cocoa farmers from Colombia has arrived in Ghana as part of the Female Cocoa Growers Mentors Programme. The programme aims to empower women in cocoa farming and promote cross-cultural knowledge exchange between Ghanaian and Colombian farmers.

The delegation, led by Colombian Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Daniel Garcés Carabalí, is on a six-day familiarisation tour of Ghana’s cocoa sector. They will engage with Ghanaian female cocoa farmers, visit key institutions such as the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana and the Bunso Cocoa College, and explore cocoa-growing locations.

The visit is expected to foster valuable connections and insights in sustainable cocoa production. The program is designed to deepen the expertise of the Colombian farmers and promote collaboration between the two countries’ cocoa industries.
