
The Coalition of NDC Former Executives (CONFEX) joins the nation in mourning the tragic loss of eight distinguished Ghanaians who perished in the military helicopter crash on August 6, 2025, in the Adansi Akrofuom District. These were not just passengers on a mission—they were patriots on a journey to uplift Ghana through the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme (RCOMSDEP). Their lives were emblematic of service, sacrifice, and vision.
We honour:
• Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Minister for Defence
A tireless advocate for national security reform and peacebuilding, Dr. Boamah championed the modernization of the Ghana’s armed forces and regional stability.
• Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation
A bold voice in Parliament and a veritable advocate for climate resilience and sustainable development, Dr. Mohammed led transformative policies on green innovation and environmental justice.
• Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator and former Minister for Food and Agriculture
A strategic thinker in food systems and national security, Alhaji Limuna bridged agriculture and governance with integrity and foresight.
• Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman of the NDC and former Ashanti Regional Minister
A grassroots mobilizer and regional development architect, Dr. Sarpong’s legacy lives on in the empowerment of communities across Ashanti and beyond.
• Mr. Samuel Aboagye, Former Member of Parliament and NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Obuasi East
A passionate advocate for mining communities and youth employment, Mr. Aboagye stood for inclusive growth and local representation.
• Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Ghana Air Force
A decorated officer and aviation expert, Squadron Leader Anala embodied courage and professionalism in service inGhana’s skies.
• Flying Officer Malin Twum-Ampadu, Ghana Air Force
A rising star in military aviation, Officer Twum-Ampadurepresented the future of Ghana’s defense capabilities with discipline and promise.
• Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah, Ghana Air Force
A committed serviceman whose quiet strength and loyalty uplifted his unit and inspired his peers.
This tragedy is a national wound. These eight heroes were united by purpose, driven by duty, and lost in the line of service. Their passing leaves a void in our institutions, our communities, and our hearts.
CONFEX extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved families, the Government of Ghana, and all citizens. We stand in solemn solidarity with President John Dramani Mahama’sdeclaration of national mourning, and we echo the call for unity, reflection, and resolve.
May their souls rest in perfect peace.
May their legacies guide our steps toward a more just, secure, and compassionate Ghana.
And may their memories forever echo in the corridors of our national story.
