Akosua Bonsu, the ace decorator in Chicago, transformed the Ukrainian Center in Chicago into a vibrant blue, gold, and white oasis. The occasion? Matilda Boadi’s 65th birthday celebration. Initially, it was supposed to be her 60th birthday celebration, but it was postponed because of the pandemic and other unforeseen circumstances. When it finally unfolded, it was nothing short of breathtaking.
In full support of Matilda was Mr. Dan Boadi, her husband. Dan Boadi is a music industry icon and veteran of the Ghannatta international band. Attendance was huge. Despite some guests lacking seat assignments, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement. Attendees reveled in the music, swaying to the beat and soaking in the joyous ambiance.
Amidst the vibrant colors and jubilant atmosphere, Jombi Jombi, a talented musician, took the floor and ignited the celebration. The apple, indeed, doesn’t fall far from its tree. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Boadi. His performance was mesmerizing, infusing the event with an extra layer of energy and rhythm. As the crowd moved to his beats, Jombi Jombi’s music became the heartbeat of the evening. Whether it was soulful melodies or infectious grooves, he had everyone on their feet, celebrating his mother’s milestone in flamboyant style. Twice during the celebration, Matilda took the dancing floor, ushered in by elegantly attired ladies in green and gold. Their graceful movements lit up the hall, leaving an indelible impression on everyone present.DJ Odikro curated a playlist that hit all the right notes. His melodic tunes kept the crowd dancing and cheering, especially when Matilda and Dan showcased their impressive dance moves.
Cosby Michael, the emcee, skillfully wove humor into the evening. His engaging banter held the audience captive, punctuating the festivities with laughter.
Reverend Dzifanu Agbenya of Living Comfort Ministries offered a heartfelt prayer, ushering the event into the Lord’s hands.
It was a night of community love and togetherness—a fitting tribute to Matilda’s milestone.
