The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General William Agyapong, on Monday, November 24, 2025, visited personnel receiving treatment at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.
The CDS’s visit was intended to check on the welfare of two separate groups of injured individuals: military personnel involved in a recent vehicular accident and victims of a recent recruitment stampede.
The vehicular accident occurred between the Salaga and Tamale townships and involved three personnel who were executing a presidential assignment. The injured personnel were identified as Lieutenant Colonel Edmund Erasmus Adonteng, Staff Sergeant Shanu Osmanu, and Lance Corporal Austin Anthony Ceece Charles.
Additionally, Lieutenant General Agyapong visited eight victims of the recent Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) recruitment stampede who are currently admitted at the same facility. The CDS assured all victims of both incidents of the unwavering support of the Ghana Armed Forces during their recovery.
