Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Presidential Candidate, has countered John Dramani Mahama’s recent call for a “reset” of Ghana, asserting instead that the nation requires an upgrade.
During the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Manifesto launch, Mahama urged voters to support him for a “reset,” describing Ghana as “bleeding” and in urgent need of change.
In his response on Sunday, August 25, Dr. Bawumia emphasized that Ghana should focus on upgrading rather than resetting. He presented 14 key commitments he plans to implement if elected in the 2024 elections. These include job creation, transforming Ghana into a leading digital economy, and reducing the cost of living.
Bawumia outlined his vision: “I represent the future. Ghana needs an upgrade, not a reset. My 14 key commitments aim to sustain and expand Ghana’s recovering economy, create new jobs, reform the tax system, and develop a world-class digital economy. We will work to lower the cost of living, enhance public infrastructure, improve healthcare for all, implement Affirmative Action for girls and women, ensure good governance, support the elderly, and broaden educational opportunities. Additionally, we will protect our borders and maintain neighborhood safety.”
