The Ashanti Regional Criminal Investigations Department (CID) in Kumasi has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the “unnatural death” of a 20-year-old Senegalese national, Cheith Toure. The deceased’s body has been deposited at the Ebenezer mortuary in Tafo, Kumasi.

Initial police inquiries revealed the victim was taken to the mortuary by a person identified only as Issah, who claimed to be Toure’s brother.

Further investigations at the Manhyia Government Hospital established that this same individual, Issah, had brought Toure to the facility on October 16, 2025, in a critical condition. At the time, Issah alleged the victim had sustained several abdominal injuries in an accident. However, hospital records indicate that Toure was brought in dead.

The Police Command assures the public that every effort is being made to thoroughly investigate the matter and clarify the circumstances surrounding Mr. Toure’s death. The police are appealing to anyone with relevant information to contact the Regional CID in Kumasi or use the Police hotlines 18555, 191, or 112.
