Accra, Ghana – Former Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan, has launched the Asamoah Gyan Foundation, a philanthropic initiative aimed at empowering Ghanaian and African youth through sports and education.
Gyan, who has had a storied football career, emphasized that his vision is to give back to the community that shaped him, stressing that the foundation is apolitical and focused on creating lasting change for young people.
Through partnerships with international organizations, royal families, and philanthropic partners, the foundation will establish sports academies, training centers, and mentorship programs to nurture young talent in various sports. The initiative will also prioritize education, character development, and life skills to prepare youth for success beyond sports.
Gyan’s mission is rooted in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on education, health, and equality. He believes that sports have the power to unite and inspire, and that by harnessing this power, we can uplift the next generation and create a brighter future for Ghana and Africa.
The Asamoah Gyan Foundation is partnered with the Moah Green Foundation and the All-Regional Games to drive this vision forward, with Gyan serving as Chairman.
