KUMASI — The Manhyia Palace has released the official program and order of attendance for the final funeral rites of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III. The four-day ceremony is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 15, and conclude on Thursday, September 18.

According to the published schedule, the public will have the opportunity to file past the body from Monday to Wednesday, from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Manhyia Palace. During the same period, His Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, will sit in state from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. The final burial service is slated for Thursday at 3 p.m.
The Asante Kingdom was plunged into a state of mourning following the passing of Nana Konadu Yiadom III on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the age of 98. The news of her death was formally communicated by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, during an emergency meeting of the Asanteman Traditional Council on Monday, August 11, 2025.
The late Asantehemaa, who was the biological sister of the current Asantehene, was enstooled as the 14th Asantehemaa on February 6, 2017, succeeding her mother, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II.
Specific days have been designated for different groups to pay their respects. The program for Monday, September 15, will see attendance from various institutions including churches, clergy, all political parties, educational institutions, NGOs, telecommunication companies, and corporate bodies. These groups, along with the general public, will have the opportunity to file past the late Asantehemaa’s body and pay their final respects.
The final two days will accommodate high-profile dignitaries. Wednesday, September 17, is reserved for Ministers of State, the Diplomatic Corps, Parliamentarians, Municipal and District Chief Executives, and non-Ashanti chiefs, alongside mining companies and the general public.
The funeral rites will conclude on Thursday, September 18, with the attendance of the Presidency, former presidents, former vice presidents, and the Diplomatic Corps. The announcement also provided details for donations, which can be made to a dedicated account at Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC.
