In a disturbing trend, the Meena Breast Cancer Foundation has sounded the alarm on the increasing number of Senior High School students and basic school pupils developing breast lumps. The NGO’s Communication and Advocacy lead, Nina Ahema Duodu, expressed concern over the lack of urgency shown by these young individuals and their parents in seeking medical attention.

During the foundation’s sensitization and screening exercises in schools and communities nationwide, they discovered numerous cases of breast lumps and nipple sores among young girls, many of whom had neglected to seek medical care. This revelation has prompted the foundation to intensify its outreach efforts, recognizing that the traditional annual October awareness month is insufficient to address the escalating issue.

Meena Breast Cancer Foundation provides vital financial and material support to breast cancer patients, including assistance with mammograms for those identified with breast issues. Nina Ahema Duodu appealed for increased financial support to enable the foundation to expand its reach and sustain its life-saving work.

The foundation’s dedication to combating breast cancer is unwavering, and with enhanced support, they can make a meaningful difference in the lives of these young individuals and the broader community.
