Accra – Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo hosted the National Chief Imam, His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, at his office in Labone, Accra, this afternoon.
The former President highlighted the Chief Imam’s role as a potent symbol of peace, unity, and inter-religious tolerance within Ghana. Akufo-Addo noted that their close friendship stretches back to before his time as President, emphasizing the Chief Imam’s unwavering support for him and his family throughout his presidency.
During the visit, the former President expressed his deep gratitude to Sheikh Sharubutu for continuously keeping him in his thoughts and prayers. Akufo-Addo also commended the Chief Imam for his significant contribution to maintaining sustained peace, stability, and social cohesion across the nation, especially amidst the prevailing uncertainty within the West African region.
He concluded by asserting that Ghana remains profoundly grateful for the Chief Imam’s notable role in contributing to the positive chapters of the nation’s history.
