Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo joined the Asantehene and the people of Asanteman to mark the one-week observation for the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, on Thursday, August 21, 2025. The ceremony was an important rite of passage to honor the memory of the beloved traditional leader.
The late Asantehemaa was remembered for her elegance, courage, honesty, and thoughtfulness. Former President Akufo-Addo, who had enjoyed her company, expressed his sadness at her departure and paid tribute to her remarkable qualities.
In his tribute, Akufo-Addo prayed that the ancestors and the Almighty God would usher the late Asantehemaa into heaven and grant her peaceful rest until the Last Day of the Resurrection. The ceremony was a testament to the respect and admiration for the late Queen Mother’s contributions to the Asanteman kingdom.
