Aggrey Memorial A.M.E. Zion Senior High School in Cape Coast, Ghana, is gearing up to celebrate its 85th anniversary on November 2, 2024, at Pempamsie Hotel. Hosted by Headmistress Mrs. Dorothy Adentwi-Hayford and chaired by Professor Victor Kweku Bondze Micah, the event’s theme is “Building on 85 Years of Quality Education: The Role of Stakeholders.

Keynote speaker Ing. Mrs. Rita Ohene Sarfo, a distinguished alumna and Director of Policy, Planning and Budgeting at the Ministry of Roads and Highways, will share insights gleaned from her contributions to major infrastructure projects.
The 85th-anniversary launch kicks off the Special Homecoming for Aggrey Memorial’s old students, known as AMOSA. Festivities begin November 1 with a variety show, followed by motivational lectures from prominent alumni, including Professor Sam Ekow Quainoo, Hiram Laud Anderson, Justice Otoo and Lyssiemay Annoh.
Saturday’s schedule includes the Annual General Meeting in the afternoon and a Campus Hangout social gathering in the evening.
Founded in 1940 by Rev. Dr. A.W.E. Appiah, Aggrey Memorial boasts a rich history of academic excellence. Notable alumni include Supreme Court Justice Yaw Darko Asare, politician Kojo Asemanyi and actress Yvonne Nelson.
