In a shocking revelation, President John Dramani Mahama exposed the stark reality of the Agenda 111 project during his maiden State of the Nation Address (SoNA) on February 27, 2025. Despite the previous administration’s massive investment of $400 million, not a single hospital under this initiative is operational.
President Mahama emphasized that the enormous financial commitment has yielded zero results, with none of the hospitals completed or serving the people of Ghana. He lamented, “It is worth disclosing that USD400m has already been disbursed under agenda 111 project, yet not a single hospital under this gargantuan initiative is serving the people of Ghana”.
The President further pointed out that if resources had been utilized efficiently, the amount spent could have facilitated the completion and operationalization of at least 22 of the proposed hospitals. This stark admission raises serious concerns about the execution of the project and the need for accountability in government spending.
