The Africa Center for Energy Policy (ACEP) has extended a warm welcome to John Jinapor, the newly nominated Minister of Energy Designate. As Jinapor prepares to take the reins, ACEP is urging him to prioritize limiting political influence in the management of the energy sector.
According to Kodzo Yaotse, Policy Lead for Petroleum and Conventional Energy at ACEP, the energy sector requires strategic and non-partisan approaches to address its challenges. Yaotse emphasized the need for a well-planned and executed energy policy, unhindered by political interests, to ensure the sector’s growth and stability.
As Jinapor assumes his new role, he will face the daunting task of navigating Ghana’s complex energy landscape. With ACEP’s guidance, he will be expected to make informed decisions that balance the country’s energy needs with its economic and environmental goals. By adopting a non-partisan approach, Jinapor can help restore confidence in the energy sector and drive sustainable growth for Ghana’s future.
