The Deputy Minister for Agriculture, John Dumelo, has launched the $87 million Bridge in Agriculture Programme on behalf of Minister Eric Opoku. The initiative aims to provide affordable capital and technical support to youth, particularly women, who own Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the agricultural sector in Ghana.

The programme is expected to have a significant impact on the lives of young people and women in agriculture, enabling them to access the resources they need to grow their businesses and contribute to the country’s economic development. By providing affordable capital and technical support, the programme will help to address some of the key challenges facing SMEs in the agricultural sector.

The Bridge in Agriculture Programme is a collaborative effort with the Mastercard Foundation and other financial entities. The partnership highlights the commitment of both the government and private sector to supporting the agricultural sector and promoting economic growth and development.

The launch of the programme has been welcomed by stakeholders in the agricultural sector, who see it as a vital step towards empowering young people and women in agriculture. With the support of the program, SMEs in the agricultural sector are expected to thrive, contributing to Ghana’s economic growth and development.
