The Eastern South Regional Police Command has arrested a suspect, Abdul Rauf Salami, in connection with the unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition at Nsawam-Adoagyiri in the Eastern Region. The arrest was made on May 23, 2025, at 9:30 pm during intensified police operations in the area.
The suspect was found in possession of two pump-action guns with 64 rounds of AA ammunition, a cutlass, a knife, and an ammunition vest. Abdul Rauf Salami is currently in police custody assisting with investigations and is expected to be arraigned before the court.
The police operation was part of a broader response to recent disturbances in the township. The Eastern South Regional Police Command has assured the public that they will leave no stone unturned in ensuring the safety and security of the Adoagyiri Township and urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police.
