Dr. Ransford Abbey, Chief Executive of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), has embarked on the third phase of his tour of cocoa-growing communities, visiting the Eastern and Central Regions.

The two-day working visit began with a courtesy call on the Okyenhene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin, at his palace. Dr. Abbey briefed the monarch on COCOBOD’s current state and sought his wisdom and goodwill as the organisation intensifies efforts to revamp Ghana’s cocoa sector.

During the visit, Dr. Abbey engaged with a large gathering of cocoa farmers at Asamankese. The interaction was productive, with farmers sharing their experiences and expectations while receiving assurance of COCOBOD’s unwavering support.

The tour will continue tomorrow with more stakeholder engagements aimed at transforming and sustaining the cocoa industry. Dr. Abbey’s visit is expected to foster stronger relationships between COCOBOD and cocoa farmers, ultimately contributing to the growth and development of Ghana’s cocoa sector.
