The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, paid a courtesy call on Togbe Afede XIV, the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, at his private residence in Ho on Saturday, May 3, 2025. The Imam was in town to attend a 40-day prayer for a respected member of the Zongo community.

During the visit, the Imam offered prayers for Togbui Afede’s life, health, and wisdom. Interestingly, they discovered they share the same birthday, April 23rd, which added a personal touch to the occasion. Togbui Afede commended the Imam for his efforts in promoting peace and understanding between Muslims and Christians in Ghana.

The two leaders agreed to host a joint birthday celebration in Accra next year, which will be hosted by the Chief Imam. The meeting was attended by chiefs, queen mothers, and elders, and served as a reminder of their shared commitment to unity and harmony.

Togbe Afede XIV is the President of Asogli Traditional Area, and former President of the National House of Chiefs.
