The Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has commissioned the renovated General Headquarters Medical Office Complex at Burma Camp. The renovation aims to enhance the administrative and healthcare delivery capacity of the Ghana Armed Forces. The complex is expected to provide quality health services, supporting staff productivity at all levels of military operations.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Dr. Omane Boamah emphasized the government’s commitment to leveraging the expertise within the Ghana Armed Forces to advance the country’s health infrastructure. He highlighted the importance of investing in healthcare facilities to support the well-being of military personnel.
The Defence Minister also highlighted ongoing efforts to support the field medical office in Tamale. Additionally, he reaffirmed plans to complete the Afari Military Hospital in Kumasi within the year. Once completed, the hospital is expected to reduce the burden on the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.
The commissioning of the renovated medical office complex is a significant step in improving the healthcare delivery system within the Ghana Armed Forces. It demonstrates the government’s commitment to supporting the welfare of military personnel and enhancing the country’s health infrastructure.
