The Parliamentary Select Committee on Health has commended the Holy Family Catholic Hospital in Techiman for providing quality healthcare to patients. The committee made the commendation during a working visit to the hospital to assess its healthcare delivery system and challenges.

The committee members expressed concern over the rising number of road traffic emergencies and called for increased public education on road safety and equipping hospitals with advanced diagnostic tools. The hospital’s CEO, Mr. Christopher Akanbobnaab, highlighted challenges facing the facility, including high attrition rates of nurses and midwives, lack of space and beds, and inadequate equipment.

The Executive Director of the Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG), Dr. Peter Yeboah, emphasized the need for equitable resource distribution, stronger partnerships, and urgent infrastructure support, noting the hospital’s strategic location and public good. The committee commended the hospital’s staff for their professionalism, cleanliness, and dedication to patients. The team is expected to continue its assessment tour in other hospitals in the Ahafo Region.
