The Parliamentary Committee on Youth and Sports paid a visit to the Ghana Black Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium, offering words of encouragement ahead of their World Cup qualifying match against Les Sao of Chad today, March 21, 2025. The sector Minister, Hon. Kofi Iddi Adams, introduced the Committee to the team and assured the players of Ghana’s full support ¹.
Ernest Henry Norgbey, Chairman of the Youth and Sports Committee, emphasized the support of over 30 million Ghanaians, including the 276 representatives of various constituencies. He stressed the nation’s collective aspirations to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, highlighting the importance of teamwork and national spirit as key to victory.
Ranking Member Hon. Vincent Ekow Assafuah noted that unity is crucial, as football brings citizens together, transcending party lines. He emphasized that patriotism, rather than money, drives players’ motivation and urged the team to stay focused for the 90-minute game. Coach Otoo Addo thanked the Committee for their efforts and assured Ghanaians that the Black Stars will raise the flag of Ghana high.
