The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George (MP), has formally introduced Dr. Oliver-Kevor as the Director-General of the National Information Technology Agency (NITA).
Samuel George urged the management and staff of NITA to support Dr. Oliver-Kevor, enabling him to drive the agency’s agenda and deliver on its mandate. The Minister emphasized NITA’s role in Ghana’s digital transformation, particularly in ICT policy implementation, cybersecurity, and e-governance.
Dr. Oliver-Kevor brings experience to NITA, with over 20 years of expertise in academia, specializing in Knowledge Management Systems, ICT and SME studies, Telecommunications, and Information Security. His expertise in research and digital technology positions him to lead reforms that will enhance Ghana’s ICT regulatory framework and digital infrastructure.
Prior to his appointment, Dr. Oliver-Kevor served as a board member of the National Communications Authority (NCA) during President Mahama’s administration, playing a role in shaping Ghana’s telecom regulations. He also contributed to policy discussions on cybersecurity and digital resilience at the United Nations.
With his leadership, NITA is expected to strengthen its role in ICT governance, expanding digital infrastructure, and ensuring cybersecurity frameworks to support Ghana’s digital economy. Dr. Oliver-Kevor holds a PhD in Information Systems from the University of Ghana, a Master of Science in ICT and Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
