Ho, Volta Region – The Volta Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mawutor Agbavitor, has urged party members and executives to be measured in their expectations of President John Dramani Mahama and his government.
Speaking during the President’s thank-you tour to Ho last Friday, Mr. Agbavitor reassured the people that the future remained bright for the region. “The sun will surely shine high on the Volta Region,” he stated, expressing gratitude to the President for his appointments so far.
The President’s appointments, including Mrs. Dzifa Abla Gomashie as Minister of Tourism, aimed at developing the region’s rich tourism potential, were particularly commended by Mr. Agbavitor.
The Volta Region has been a stronghold of the NDC, with a 90.11 percent voter turnout in favor of the party in the 2024 general election. However, Mr. Agbavitor emphasized the need for patience and measured expectations, acknowledging that the President’s initiatives and resetting agenda would take time to bear fruit.
“We must be measured in our expectations,” Mr. Agbavitor urged party members and executives. “The President’s appointments are guided by principles of competence and the ability to deliver. We must trust in his leadership and vision for the region.”
The call for measured expectations comes as the President begins his work in the region, with a focus on fulfilling the needs of the Volta Region and leveraging its strategic importance for national development.
