President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, to participate in a High-Level Retreat on African Union (AU) Institutional Reforms. The two-day event, scheduled for January 27-28, is being hosted by Kenya’s President William Ruto, who has been designated the African Union Champion.
The retreat will bring together African leaders to discuss the progress and future of AU reforms. Key areas of focus will include sustainable financing, reviewing the structure and operations of the AU, and exploring ways to strengthen the organization.
As a respected leader on the continent, President Mahama will share his valuable insights and experience, highlighting Ghana’s commitment to the African Union agenda. His participation in the retreat underscores Ghana’s dedication to promoting regional cooperation and driving progress in Africa.
President Mahama’s attendance at the retreat is also a testament to the strong ties between Ghana and Kenya. The two nations have a history of collaboration, with President Ruto having attended President Mahama’s inauguration ceremony in Accra.
