
President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Emmanuel Siisi Quainoo as the Acting Commissioner of the Gaming Commission of Ghana, effective January 22, 2025. This appointment aligns with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 67 of the Gaming Act, 2006 (Act 721) [1).
As Acting Commissioner, Quainoo will oversee the regulation and monitoring of Ghana’s gaming industry, encompassing casinos, sports betting, and lotteries. His temporary appointment is pending advice from the governing Board of the Gaming Commission, in consultation with the Public Services Commission.
Quainoo has 14 days to accept or decline the appointment. President Mahama has extended his best wishes to Quainoo, expressing optimism about his potential to lead the Gaming Commission effectively.
