Anthony Sarpong Appointed Acting Commissioner-General of Ghana Revenue Authority

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Anthony Sarpong as the Acting Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), pending approval. This appointment takes immediate effect, following the resignation of Julie Essiam from the position.

As a senior partner at KPMG, an auditing firm, Mr. Sarpong brings a wealth of experience to his new role. With over 21 years of experience in audit and advisory services, he has worked across various sectors, including financial services, consumer and industrial markets, and telecom, media, and technology.

Mr. Sarpong’s appointment is subject to approval, and he has 14 days to accept or decline the offer. As Acting Commissioner-General, he will be responsible for overseeing the GRA’s operations and implementing strategies to improve revenue collection.

With his expertise and experience, Mr. Sarpong is well-positioned to lead the GRA and drive growth in Ghana’s revenue sector.
