President Mahama Offers Condolences to Rev Wengam and Family

President John Mahama recently received a delegation from the General Council of Assemblies of God, Ghana, who informed him of the passing of Madam Deborah Wengam, mother of Rev Stephen Wengam, the General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana. The delegation, led by Rev Dr Godwin Tito Agyei, Assistant General Superintendent, invited President Mahama to attend the funeral service, scheduled for January 25, 2025, at the Forecourt of the State House in Accra.

Rev Tito Agyei praised Madam Wengam for her 71 years of dedication to the church and for raising a visionary leader like Rev Wengam. He noted that the funeral would attract a diverse crowd, including a large delegation from the international community.

President Mahama commended Madam Wengam for her remarkable service to her generation, particularly in raising a prominent leader like Rev Wengam. He consoled Rev Wengam and his family, praying for Madam Wengam’s soul to rest in peace. This gesture of condolence reflects President Mahama’s commitment to supporting the community during difficult times.
