Chicago, Illinois – With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of Reverend Dexter Abankwa on January 20th, 2025. At the tender age of 30, his vibrant life was tragically cut short after a brief illness. He took his final breath at Mercy Hospital in Chicago.

Reverend Dexter Abankwa, the beloved son of the late Reverend Daniel Abankwa, leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith and dedication. Dexter was not just a clergyman; he was a beacon of hope and love, known for his warmth and compassion. His selfless spirit shone brightly as he volunteered to play the keyboard at churches and conventions whenever invited, sharing his musical talent and enriching countless lives with his gift.

His departure is a profound loss to his family, friends, and community, who will forever remember his gentle spirit and steadfast commitment to service. The void he leaves is a testament to the immense impact he had in his short but meaningful life.

As Dexter himself poignantly wrote on his Facebook wall: “Being happy never goes out of style.” These words embody his approach to life and the joy he spread to those around him.

He leaves behind his only brother, Dr. Abankwa of Plainfield, Illinois, who now carries forward his legacy of love and service.

May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.

Further information regarding his funeral arrangements will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
