As the clock struck midnight, ushering in the year 2025, Ghanaians from all walks of life came together to welcome a new era of hope and optimism. Engr. Brabaka Kudiabor Ocansey, Executive Director of the Centre for National Interest and Research, extended warm wishes to the nation, emphasizing the need for unity and collective effort in achieving Ghana’s national development goals.
In his New Year’s message, Ocansey urged citizens to put aside their differences and work towards a common vision – a prosperous, inclusive, and resilient Ghana. He stressed the importance of professionals standing up for fairness and progress, rather than loyalty to political parties or governments.
As Ghana celebrates 67 years of independence and 32 years of the 4th Republic, Ocansey emphasized the need to move away from extreme partisan politics and corruption. Instead, he called for a collaborative effort to achieve a first-world status by 2057, where everyone has access to equal opportunities and diversity is celebrated.
The Centre for National Interest and Research remains committed to promoting inclusive growth, conducting evidence-based research, and advocating for good governance and accountability. Ocansey congratulated President-elect John Dramani Mahama on his re-election victory and expressed appreciation to opposition parties for their role in Ghana’s democratic process.
To the youth, middle-class citizens, and young adults, Ocansey offered a special message of encouragement, acknowledging their crucial role in driving Ghana’s progress. As the nation embarks on this new journey, Ghanaians are filled with hope and determination, ready to work together towards a brighter future.
