Former President John Dramani Mahama and his wife, Lordina Dramani Mahama, have renovated and expanded the Hohoe Adabraka Health Centre in the Volta Region. The health centre, which had fallen into disrepair, now boasts modern facilities, including two separate wards, consulting rooms, a laboratory, and a spacious waiting area.
At the inauguration ceremony, Mrs. Mahama expressed her joy and gratitude, stating that the renovated health centre would provide affordable and accessible healthcare to the community. She explained that although the NDC parliamentary candidate for Hohoe had requested medical equipment, she and her husband decided to renovate and expand the health centre instead.
The Lordina Foundation, established by Mrs. Mahama, donated essential medical supplies to the health centre, including hospital beds, medical equipment, and a refrigerator. The foundation’s efforts align with Sustainable Development Goal 3, which aims to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all.
The renovated health centre is expected to significantly improve healthcare delivery in the region, particularly for women and children. The medical officer in charge of the facility, Jessica Honya-Tsiewu, expressed her excitement about the project, calling it a game-changer for the community.
